Ugandan Singer, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine has come out and dismissed claims that he is involved in land grabbing and demolition of people’s houses in Busabala as alleged by some locals in the area. On Tuesday, a public meeting was held in Busabala and the Minister of Security, Lt. Gen Henry Tumukunde was invited by the locals who reported top him that singer, Bobi Wine and some officials from Mengo were demolishing their houses. However, in a lengthy Facebook post on his page, the Fire Base Entertainment boss denied having hired goons to demolish people’s houses in Busabala, arguing that those spreading lies about him simply want to tarnish his name. “There is a deliberate move to tarnish my name by some people who hate me for no reason. I want to make it clear that I am not involved and neither do I have any link in the demolition of people’s houses in Busabala,” Bobi Wine wrote on Facebook. “It is not the first time such lies are put against me. I have never destroyed any body’s property, but some bad hearted people are bent on destroying me by trading lies about my name. It’s absurd that even ministers were invited to a public meeting but they could not stand on their two feet and tell the truth,” he added. Bobi Wine further noted that he has no land wrangle with anybody. He clarified that he only owns a beach in Busabala and not everything that happens in the area is his responsibility.
