Jacques Tuyisenge suffered an ankle injury on Saturday despite leading Gor Mahia to a 3-0 win against Kakamega Homeboyz.
The Rwandese striker was making his debut after a lengthy spell in the sidelines with a groin injury sustained during Chan competition in January. However, Goal understands the striker injured his ankle, but will be available for the team’s next match.
“Yes, he picked an ankle injury against Homeboyz. It was a little nasty but it is a minor injury. It will depend with the doctor’s recommendations but I am not expecting him to be out for so long. As a matter of fact he might be playing on Wednesday against Thika United, but that will depend with how he reacts.”
Coach Ze Maria was happy with Tuyisenge’s contribution and his first win as Gor Mahia coach. “Just like the other players in the squad, Tuyisenge played well, and he will be vital for the team. We want to do our best and defend our title by the end of the campaign.”
