Ugandan Singer Angella Katatumba has proved that music is a powerful instrument in bringing change. It has taken her places as she preaches her gospel of charity. As a result, the talented artiste is slated to perform at the first ever United Nations World Humanitarian summit due to take place on the 23rd and 24th May 2016 in Istanbul, Turkey. She will be entertaining up to 5,000 participants including Heads of States, representatives of crisis-affected communities, business leaders, Heads of multilateral organizations, international and national NGOs, youth representatives, military and academia. The artiste’s generosity started way back when she first visited the dilapidated areas of northern Uganda especially Gulu and it was then that she came up with ‘this is for you Gulu’ project that changed many people’s lives.

After that project, Angella then started off with the ‘Let’s Go green’ campaign that created awareness about Uganda’s nature and she was doing all this while putting her singing career at centre stage and through her charity Organisation, the Angella Katatumba Development Foundation (AKDF). The news of the Turkey performance comes just months after the Philanthropist donated a Phototherapy Machine and a Syringe Pump. These machines are already saving the lives of 60 premature babies every week at Mulago Hospital through her ‘Mulago Yaffe’ campaign.
The campaign also saw her partnering with the Uganda Bikers to fundraise funds for the Mulago Cancer Institute.
