Mseto Exclusive : 8 Things You Should Know About The Late Mama Lucy Kibaki.

    Lucy Muthoni Kibaki was the wife of former Kenyan President Mwai Kibaki and  former First Lady of Kenya from 2002 to 2013. she passed away today  at the Bupa Cromwell Hospital in London.According to a statement by the statehouse, Mama Lucy had been unwell for the past month receiving treatment both in Kenya and in the United Kingdom. She will be mostly remembered for her endless effort in the fight for HIV & AIDS in the region  apart from chairing the Organization of the 40 African First Ladies Against HIV/Aids.

    Here are the 8  things that you should Know from the former first lady .

    1 : she met Mwai Kibaki in 1960, After a two-year romance, the couple married in 1962.

    2:  She was a trained as a teacher having acted as a  principal in a teacher-training college in Kiambu.

    3 :She chaired the Organization of the 40 African First Ladies Against HIV/Aids.

    4: She died at the age of 76 years. ( 1940 – 2016).

    5: She once slapped Lawyer Gitobu Imanyara, State House comptroller Matere Keriri,Nation Media Journalist and a Jamhuri Day Mcee.

    6. In May 2005, she stormed into the house of her then neighbour, the World Bank’s country director Makhtar Diop at midnight and demanded that he turns the music down.

    7.She Once Forced Her Husband H.E Mwai Kibaki to publicly declare that she was the only wife.

    8.Last but not least In 2003, she skipped a New Year’s Eve party after Vice President Moodi Awori referred to her as a “second lady”, which she interpreted as an insult.
