Vanessa Hau Mdee popularly known as Vee Money is one the most influential Female Celebrities in Africa with her rise to fame being attributed to the fact that she was the First ever Tanzanian MTV VJ in 2007.Born on 7th June 1988 in Arusha,Vee Money has worked her way up to becoming a super Recording artist,songwriter,Youth activist and a Tv&Radio host.

1.She Became an Artist through her sister
According to Vanessa Mdee,her sister was at the time dating one of Tanzania’s biggest deejays who would let her go to the studio and so she was always around artists and the studio environment.
“I entered the MTV Base veejay search and won.After a year of being on television, I started hosting a live radio show. It was perfect,though I knew I wanted to make music.The problem was,I would make music and then say it’s horrible. I met David Banner in 2014 when he was in Tanzania as part of a workshop for producers and artists. He told me that “every artist is like that.” He said, “If 75 percent of it sounds good, then let it go.” Now, I am a fully fledged recording artist, performer, singer, dancer, rock star.”
2.She Was The First Female Act To Be Signed By BHitz Music Group Team
In 2011, Vanessa Mdee got asked to perform the anthem to the TUSKER CECAFA Cup and “Celebrate” became an immediate victory song as Tanzania won the championship that year. This immediately caught the attention of the BHitz Music Group Team,who signed her as their first female act.
3.She Was The First Tanzanian to Perform In The Nigeria’s Biggest Annual Music Concert –(Harp Rhythm Unplugged.)
In December 2013, Vanessa was invited to perform at Nigeria’s biggest annual music concert the Harp Rhythm Unplugged making her the first Tanzanian Bongo Flava artist to perform on a west African platform of that magnitude alongside the likes of Burna Boy, D’Banj, Waje, Dr. Sid, Banky W and many more others.
