SAD!! Ugandan Goal-Keeper ABEL DHAIRA Passes On

Ugandan keeper Abel Dhaira has passed on after losing the battle to abdominal cancer.
The 28-year old who was diagnosed in Iceland was playing for IBV football club and was in and out of hospital. According to information coming in, Abel had started chemotherapy at the Nordic Island nation but it didn’t help his situation.

Before his passing, his club ÍBV Vestmannaeyjar had started a fundraising drive where a friendly game was played between Dhaira’s current and former teammates against a select team from the Icelandic second tier league.
Abel Dhaira has played club football in Uganda, Congo and Iceland for clubs such as Express, URA, AS Vita and ÍBV. He made his international debut for Uganda in 2009 and competed at the 2012 CECAFA Cup, where he was hospitalized following a collision with an opposition player.
